Food Hub Customer Assistant volunteers play a vital role in assisting Food Hub customers with their shopping and processing customers' vouchers and shopping at the checkout in a grocery-store style food-relief ship.

Volunteers must be confident using computers and EFTPOS facilities (will receive training and support in the use of the MYOB Retail Manager shop front program.) Able to stand for long periods and be able to lift the equivalent of a large bag of potatoes as duties approx. 10 kilos at times. Duties include not only processing items but unpacking orders, stocking shelves and rotating stock as well as assisting clients. Volunteers must also be willing to undergo Food Safety Training and manual handling training as required.

Volunteers are required to be non-judgmental, able to cope in a busy environment and can demonstrate empathy with people of all backgrounds and circumstances. Can demonstrate Great Customer Service Ability with friendly and supportive approach and a 'can do' attitude and willingness to help across the various duties.
