Uniting Wesley Social Support connects older people socially to promote wellness and independence. Support can include providing opportunities for older people and adults with a disability to ‘Get back to the things they love’, try something new, reconnect with old friends or to meet some new friends. Volunteers support participants to achieve their personal goals. Participants may request support individually, in a group or via phone through our Chat-a-ring or Telelink programs. A wide range of volunteer roles are available supporting participants in their home or the community. Volunteers provide support through transporting participants, facilitating special interest groups, facilitating telephone individual or group chats, assisting at our centre based groups or supporting participants at home.
