Bush Heritage Australia

Bush Heritage is an independent nature conservation not-for-profit that buys and manages land, and partners with Aboriginal people, so we can protect our irreplaceable landscapes and our magnificent native species forever. We focus work in our priority landscapes – areas selected on the basis of national biodiversity priorities, location of existing reserves and opportunities for strategic partnerships. Today we work across 11.3 million hectares of land. Our reserves and partnerships protect threatened ecosystems and 7,716 species of plants and animals. Bush Heritage has over 1300 registered volunteers and the activities on reserve that volunteers are involved in is extremely diverse. They help with projects like infrastructure maintenance, fauna and flora monitoring, weeding and soil conservation, feral animal control, revegetation, and fence removal. We also have a range of projects that volunteers can work on from home.
