The Purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people: to support them in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their community. Scouting achieves this by providing opportunities to grow through adventure and by following a system of progressive self-education emphasising community involvement, learning by doing, leadership, nature and the outdoors.
