Logo for Arc Artist Retail Collective Inc Armadale

The Artist Retail Collective (ARC) is a multi-purpose art gallery and live music venue in the heart of Armadale. Located in the historic former Railway Hotel at the east end of Jull Street Mall, the ARC is a not-for-profit enterprise run by local artists and overseen by a representative board. Since its establishment in 2017 as a pop-up gallery, the ARC has become an exciting meeting place for artists, musicians, writers and other artisans to share and sell their work. For non-artists and visitors, the ARC and neighbouring teahouse has grown into a lively community hub and live music hangout. Presently the ARC is inviting passionate, committed and art-loving members of the Armadale and broader community to join its governing board. Responsible for driving the ARC’s creative and strategic vision, overseeing the running of the gallery, and making decisions about things like funding, fundraising, and publicity, the board performs an integral and vital role for the ARC and its artists. Members of the board are volunteers and meet once a month in Armadale, and responsibilities and time commitments vary according to position. The ARC is a place for art and culture in our community. We believe in our work. We believe in the power of the arts to express life, to transform and challenge people, to render and renew the world with beauty, interest, and wonder. If you’re interested in playing a role in this important work, if you’re interested in bringing your skills, knowledge, and love to our institution, we can’t wait to meet you. Below are the positions we are seeking to fill. Any experience in the not-for-profit sector will be a bonus, but we hope you’ll join us even if this is your first time the not-for-profit world.
