The State-Wide Operational Response Division (SWORD) was founded on the need to have metropolitan based secondary-response teams available to attend critical incidents across Western Australia. As a secondary response team, SWORD's main aim is to provide effective support to all other brigades. SWORD’s Volunteer Fire and Emergency Service (VFES) Unit covers and protect the State of Western Australia and provide flexible volunteering opportunities to its members. We strive to deliver high quality training and developmental pathways for all members.
