The Village Hub builds on Connect Victoria Park Inc’s traditional strengths in providing seniors’ housing and running The Homestead community centre and allows us to explore new ways of meeting the needs of a new generation of older people. The Village Hub will work with our community to make our local area the best place in WA for people aged 55 and over to live by providing: * A contact point to help problem solve issues impacting on your independent living and wellbeing; * Access to affordable courses, groups and events that support physical health, creativity and social connections (building on what we already do at The Homestead); * Access to resources and information sessions on issues that impact on people aged 55+ e.g. housing choices, aged care,?wills etc * Access to discounted health services e.g. podiatry; Supported referral to specialist home care providers, aged care and assessment services. * Linkage to local volunteers who can provide small amounts of help in times of need e.g. assistance with pet care, small gardening or handyman tasks; * Access to information on reliable and trustworthy local tradespeople; * Access to a local community discount scheme.
