Scouts Tasmania runs fun youth development activities to help build resilient and confident boys and girls aged 5 to 25. We run a diverse range of activities that develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, problem solving and communication skills. The Scouts Australia Program, revamped in 2019, still focuses on camping, bushcraft and outdoor adventures such as hiking, kayaking and abseiling, but it also incorporates contemporary issues such as youth health, ‘responsible risk-taking’, vocational skills, and issues pertinent to Indigenous Australians. Scout Groups exist all around Tasmania and Aus and are entirely run by volunteers. As an adult volunteer you will have many opportunities to improve the lives of children, share in their adventures and make new friends (of all ages!). Adult volunteers are offered a wide range of training opportunities - sometimes online, sometimes over a weekend or, as Scouts are a Registered Training Organisation, you can even choose to work towards VET qualifications.
