The Club was formed in 1986 and has participated in the Hills Football League from its inception. The Club competes in the Hills Central Division, one of the strongest State Leagues in South Australia. It is easy to find – situated nestled behind the Blackwood Golf Course. The Clubs home playing ground is at Cherry Gardens Oval also know to members as “Thunder Park”. The Club has 3 senior sides A, B and C grade as well as 5 Junior sides at the Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Junior Colts and Senior Colts levels. The Football club shares the facilities with the Netball, Cricket and Tennis clubs and hence is well known for the great Family culture and atmosphere that it has created. There is nothing better than on a Saturday turning up to watch all teams play footy in their respective grades and have netball playing on adjacent courts.
