We hold a gathering for our community every Tuesday between 0900-1300 where people can come to receive food and financial assistance. These events are an important venue for many community members to come and socialise. The Social Connector must be able to hold conversations with strangers, assist people to complete forms and enjoy a coffee with them. Between 2-4 hours (one day) per week.
The Volunteer Tutor Program is a part of the AMEP. It offers informal language tutors to help migrants and refugees to improve their English. The Program relies on trained volunteers who work on a one-to-one basis, outside the classroom environment, either online or face to face. Every AMEP student is offered the opportunity by SR TAFE for Volunteer support for 1 hour per week. Volunteer Tutors play an important role to support new Australians to settle into the Australian culture.

Albany Sea Rescue are looking for volunteers to operate a 2 way radio and computer to talk to mariners who call in when going fishing. They operate 24 hours/7 days per week, with 3 shifts per day. Training will be provided. Will need to sit and pass a National Radio Competency exam.
Everyone is welcome to volunteer at parkrun events. We have heaps of fun, simple and rewarding opportunities to lend a hand for one to two hours on a Saturday morning at parkrun events across Australia. No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like. You can volunteer as a marshal, timekeeper, photographer or try your hand at scanning barcodes and handing out tokens…..to name a few of the roles we have available.
