Children’s Rights Queensland was founded in 1971 and has a rich 50-year history of promoting the rights of children and supporting communities. The organisation’s vision is for widespread awareness and education of children’s rights in Queensland.

Children's Rights Queensland has an exciting opportunity for a new Secretary to join our team. This role sits as part of the Executive and is responsible for adhering to governance requirements, documenting minutes at meetings and supporting policy development.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Required to attend meetings of the Executive every 6-8 weeks.
  • Support the Executive, ensuring effective governance and decision-making processes.
  • Support with sourcing and securing funding for CRQ.
  • Organise the AGM.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including funders, partners, government officials, and community members.
  • Stay informed about relevant industry trends, legal requirements, and best practices, and apply them to enhance the organisation's effectiveness.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of organisational policies and procedures.
  • Complete any additional tasks as directed by the CRQ Executive.
  • Promote Children’s Rights Queensland and its initiatives.
