Volunteer drivers

Drivers required to drive mini-buses ('C' Class License) for the MCCSA Transport Service. MCCSA maintains a small pool of volunteer drivers to drive for bookings made by culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community groups. Bookings are on an as-required basis 7 days per week and usually, 5-8 hours per booking.
Essential requirements:
- A friendly and patient disposition
- Ability to drive and operate an automatic mini-bus for around 6 hours a day (city and country roads) – some bookings may be longer
- Over 25 years old
- ‘C’ class driving license - held for 2 years minimum
- South Australian Police Clearance
Desirable:
- Experience with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
- Speak at least one other language other than English
- Driving and/or Customer Service experience
- COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving Community Groups on their booked events or day trips
- Perform basic pre-departure safety checks and fill in the log sheet in the bus
- Maintain the cleanliness of the buses - sweep and wipe, especially when returning the bus to the depot
- Submit incident reports to the Transport Coordinator for any WHS, bus maintenance or any other relevant matter involved in carrying out your duties
- Keep the Transport Coordinator informed of your availability
