Want to make a person smile? Become a Leisure Buddy Volunteer! (Burwood East)

Inclusion Melbourne

Logo for Inclusion Melbourne

Inclusion Melbourne’s Leisure Buddy program matches like-minded people to undertake social activities within our community on a fortnightly basis. We are focused on creating genuine, long term connections between volunteers and our Leisure Buddy participants. Therefore, we require a minimum commitment of 12 months and two to three hours per fortnight.

Julia is in her late late-60’s with an intellectual disability who lives in Burwood East. Ideally, she would love someone who enjoys music (especially The Beatles & Bay City Rollers) or have a cup of coffee together. Julia also would like to discover her family tree and find out more about her real parents. She would love a Leisure Buddy to take her out on fortnightly outings for 2-3 hours ideally on weekends.

No previous experience is required. Competencies include a warm, friendly and patient approach as well as empathy, good communication skills and a great sense of humour.

Your impact: Volunteering is a rewarding activity where you can connect with like-minded people, develop your skills and help to improve the quality of life for all involved. We are committed to ensuring that volunteers across our programs are encouraged, supported, trained and well informed for mutual benefit.
