Bushfire brigade volunteers play a significant and vital role in helping to ensure their local communities are safe. Volunteer firefighters are trained and equipped to carry out a range of activities including:
- Emergency response to bush and scrub fires.
- Undertaking local fire prevention activities with the community.
- Supporting other emergency service agencies as required.
- Community education and engagement.
Your duties and responsibilities:
- Support the brigade in both operational and non-operational duties.
- Follow lawful directions from the brigade officers, crew leaders and DFES staff.
- Ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.
- Attend brigade meetings and training as required.
- Inspect and maintain equipment and facilities.
- Attend emergency incidents when available.
