About the Program: The Kookaburra Club provides a positive environment for socially isolated persons over the age of 65yrs living in the City of Onkaparinga. It is a CHSP-funded program.

Key Tasks:

  • Support, supervise and interact with participants at all times to ensure a safe environment in program activities.
  • Plan, set up, dismantle, and clean equipment, tables, crafts, games, and themed activities.

Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with community members.
  • Non-judgemental approach supporting others to reflect on their values and wishes.
  • Ability to be reliable, flexible and adaptable.

Time Commitment:

The Kookaburra Club operates at Elizabeth House on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Special Requirements:

The volunteer must possess and provide a current Department of Human Services (DHS) clearance Aged Care Sector and NDIS Worker Check. These will be organised for you if you don't hold current clearances.
