The Emergency Relief Centre is a Uniting program located in Wodonga. The service was established to provide food parcels to people from the Albury Wodonga region who are experiencing financial crisis and are having difficulty providing food for themselves. An ER Interviewer conducts a face to face interview with consumers who are presenting for assistance and help facilitate referrals to other programs and agencies.

People who have desire and passion to support those experiencing hardship in their community would be suited to this role. Emergency Relief interview volunteers are expected at all times to be non-judgmental in their approach and the ability to respond with empathy to consumers in crisis. Previous work in welfare, social work or related disciplines is desirable.
