About the Centre Do you have a passion for making a difference in your community? We're looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team at the food pantry, and as food rescue drivers. Help us fight hunger and food waste by volunteering your time and skills. Whether you're working in our pantry, or collecting rescued food, every effort helps. Mount Gravatt Community Centre Inc. (MGCCI) recognizes the important contribution of volunteers within the community. MGCCI values our volunteers who in their various roles support a broad range of services and programs offered by this organisation. Key Duties of the Role:

  • Assisting with the collection of food from Food Rescue organisations such as Second Bite, Foodbank, and from retail organisations we have food rescue agreements & arrangements with.
  • Packing of fruit and vegetables, bread and other food products into hampers according to client needs.
  • Assisting with the unloading and sorting of food deliveries.
  • Stocking pantry shelves and fridges
  • Customer service – liaising with clients regarding food requirements.
  • Ensuring the hygiene, cleanliness and orderliness of the food pantry at all times.
