The role of the Veteran Activity Support Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection, and community for veterans. Volunteers support staff in delivering activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing.
Main Tasks:

Support staff in delivering activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing.

You may support with activities such as cooking, fishing, golfing, movies, BBQs, etc

Establish positive connections and support veterans on their journey to recovery.

Maintain confidentiality at all times

Follow the guidance from staff

Communicate and report concerns, issues and feedback to staff
Personal Qualities and skills:

Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds

Personal experience or understanding of the military experience is essential

Understanding of the life after the service is essential

Be reliable, flexible and committed

Have patience, kindness and empathy

A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
